Serving the Decatur area since 1948:
- 1948: Creekmur Muffler and Speed Shop is founded as a one-bay shop by John E. and Grace Creekmur and is located at 3925 E. Hickory in Decatur.
- 1960: The business moved to a new 4,000 square feet facility at 3690 E. William Street Road in Decatur, the shop is expanded to three bays and the name is changed to Creekmur Muffler and Tune-up Shop.
- 1981: John E. and Grace begin the process of transferring the business to the second generation. The shop is expanded to four bays and the name is changed to Creekmur Muffler and Brakes.
- 1985: The shop is expanded to seven bays with the addition of 2,160 square feet.
- 1993: The name is changed to Creekmur Muffler-Brakes-Alignmeent to more clearly reflect the services provided.
- 2000: Creekmur Muffler-Brakes-Alignmeent employs 7 people. The business enjoys a solid reputation as an automotive repair facility specializing in undercar products and services such as exhaust systems, brakes, suspension parts and alignment.
- 2001: Grace Creekmur, co-founder, dies after a long ailment period.
- 2004: John E. Creekmur, co-founder, dies on Christmas Eve, 2004.
- 2010: The business is remodeled to reflect the new decade. The shop is modified to be the most modern, innovative shop in Central Illinois. The name is changed to Creekmur Car Care Center to identify our expanded services. Our undercar services are expanded to include more general auto repairs.
